OUR STORY

Founded in 2009 by Keith Kerr, The Development Studio is a real estate developer based in Hong Kong.

With a rich heritage of high-quality development, TDS was created to leverage decades of institutional real estate expertise for a new generation of projects and professionals. Our mission is to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary by developing premium residential and commercial properties that merge thoughtful design with market-responsive positioning.

Drawing upon Keith Kerr’s extensive experience in leading major urban and mixed-use developments throughout Hong Kong and Mainland China, TDS was launched with an emphasis on boutique, carefully curated developments that prioritize long‑term value, architectural integrity and distinctive marketing.

Since 2011, TDS has focused on operating and delivering its own developments following successful collaborations with esteemed industry partners.

The success of TDS is powered by a compact, multidisciplinary team that manages land acquisition, planning, project management, commercial strategy and delivery. In parallel, we maintain a dedicated design team, selected specifically for their abilities and expertise to align with each project’s design brief. This synergy of internal expertise and design talent empowers TDS to maintain high standards and create developments with distinctive character.

Supported by creative design and extensive delivery experience, TDS combines strategic vision with practical development capabilities.

In its early years, TDS collaborated closely with major partners such as The Kuok Group, Kowloon Development, Hysan Development, and Kadoorie Estates, gaining valuable insights into capital structures and large-scale project execution. Today, TDS leverages these partnership lessons to uphold rigorous financial discipline, effective stakeholder management, and a developer’s perspective on long-term urban contributions.
